Commencement Ceremony Information

 

UPDATE, March 23, 2020:

The traditional Commencement ceremony, scheduled to be held Sunday, May 17, 2020, will not be held. Commencement Liturgy, scheduled for the same weekend, also will not be held

 

Edgewood College is exploring alternative ways to celebrate the enormous accomplishment of earning a college degree – at every level. 

We will share that information as soon as it becomes available.

Commencement Liturgy

Saturday, May 16, 4:00 pm | St. Joseph Chapel
A Mass celebrating commencement for all graduates and their families and friends. We welcome ALL. Celebrate the day with light celebratory refreshments immediately following Liturgy.

Ed.D. Program Reception

Sunday, May 17, 12:00 pm | Exhibition Hall
Graduates and their guests are invited to join the Educational Leadership Doctoral Program for a reception prior to commencement. The reception is held in the Exhibition Hall at the Alliant Energy Center, in the Four Lakes Room.

Commencement Line-Up | Veterans Memorial Coliseum

Sunday, May 17, 1-1:15 pm | Coliseum
Graduates participating in Commencement must arrive in the Coliseum between 1:00 and 1:15 pm. Those who arrive after 1:30 will be placed at the end of the line of students and enter the hall last instead of with other students from their major.

Seating at the Ceremony

Tickets are not required for students or guests. Designated seating for the elderly and for persons with disabilities is available.

Parking

Ample parking is available at the Alliant Energy Center. Cost is $7.00 per vehicle. Please note: Cash only. Cards are not accepted for payment of parking.

Captioning Services

Edgewood College provides real time captioning (CART) for the ceremony. Priority seating is arranged for individuals to have better viewing access. Please let an usher know you will be utilizing the CART when you arrive, so you may be seated appropriately.

Photographs

We ask that families remain in the seating area during the ceremony. Empire Photography will take individual photographs of graduates. Graduates will receive an email at their Edgewood email account with instructions on ordering photos.  If you do not receive an email, contact Empire Photography at (608)257-2941.

Edgewood College Bookstore

Staff from our bookstore will be on site before and after the commencement ceremony if you would like to purchase items such as diploma frames, gifts, or insignia apparel for your graduate. Credit cards and checks accepted.
