Covid-19 Updates

These pages are a resource for students, parents, and our entire community.

A Reminder: It Will Take ALL of Us!

Dear Students -

It has been exciting to see our new and returning students move into the residence halls over the last few days!  Our student leaders and staff are working hard to get orientation kicked off today, with a great list of events to help our new students get ready for the first day of classes.  The energy is weaving through campus, and we are happy to feel it.

However, I have also noticed a few things happening that aren’t as exciting.  Not enough social distancing, mask wearing, and students not following policies found in our Student Handbook.  This is disappointing, as many students and staff have prepared throughout the summer to make sure these days, and those ahead of us, are safe for all of us here at Edgewood College.

Eagles, I need your help.  Our community is counting on YOU.  In order for Edgewood College to have a successful year, success we are all working and hoping for, we all need to follow our guidelines 100%.  This means wearing your mask, always.  When you are with a group outside, if you are not social distancing, then you need a mask!  Remember, six feet apart, give your fellow Eagle some space.  For those living on campus, this means for now, your off-campus friends need to meet you and hang out in spaces outside of the residence hall building.  When eating in Wingra, give yourself some space and sit at the yellow dots.

When it doubt, ask someone!

For those of you returning to campus, things may look a bit different, so take some time to look over the Student Handbook for changes.  If you live on campus, be sure to attend those floor meetings and read over the housing policies.  Being informed will be a key part of your success!

I am as excited as you to get the year going.  Let’s all commit together to do our individual parts, so we can succeed and celebrate, this Year of Community.

As always, please reach out to deanofstudents@edgewood.edu or 608-663-2212 if you have further questions.

Sincerely,

Dr. Heather Harbach, Ed.D ‘17
Vice President for Student Development

Students, Faculty, and Staff Pledge 2020-'21

Preventing the spread

In order to do everything we can to keep all of our community as safe as possible, the Edgewood College community will adhere to a number of safety protocols during the 2020-2021 Academic Year as a way of minimizing risk of the spread of COVID-19. These protocols are based on guidelines provided by Public Health Madison Dane County.

As a member of this Community, I will…

  • Wash my hands properly and regularly.
  • Cover any coughs or sneezes.
  • Comply with posted Public Health Madison Dane County requirements.
  • Wear a mask covering my nose and mouth while in indoor spaces.
  • Maintain social distancing.
  • Assist in the use of disinfectant wipes to clean shared public workspaces prior to use.
  • Take reasonable precautions to avoid contracting COVID-19 both on- and off-campus.
  • Avoid public places and minimize interpersonal contacts if I have been exposed or have any symptoms of any illness.
  • Report any potential exposure or symptoms to the College and follow any instructions to seek medical care or to quarantine.
  • Agree to be tested for COVID-19, as prescribed by health care professionals. Agree to be cooperative and flexible as we work together to support one another and give our community the best balance of learning and safety.
