Just as a dusty, dirt road makes the disciple's feet dirty, we may find our feet "full of grime" as we move about our days. We can take a daily or weekly bath through self-evaluation, asking for forgiveness, and making goals or aspirations to better oneself. After bathing in self-awareness, we can choose to open ourselves to God, who senses and finds the places we may not know how to reach or cleanse. God's example of washing another's feet demonstrates how we can also meet our friends in their travels, bending close to heal and care for them.
