Matthew Schroeder (l.) and Dean Scott Campbell (r.) accept the award from Governor Scott Walker.

(August 16, 2012) – Edgewood College was recently recognized by the Office of Governor Scott Walker for its work on behalf of Wisconsin’s veterans.

The award was given in recognition of the work the College has done to aid veterans in finding employment. Over the course of the last 18 months, Edgewood College has hosted two Veterans Career and Benefits Fairs, and an Employer Symposium. The day-long symposium is designed to make prospective employers more aware of the benefits of hiring veterans.

The citation on the award reads, “on behalf of the State of Wisconsin, we offer our deepest appreciation of your work to raise awareness of the benefits of hiring veterans.  Your commitment to veteran employment will help those who have served and sacrificed.  Together we will get Wisconsin working.”

On Sunday, August 12, Dean of Graduate and Professional Studies Scott Campbell, and Veterans Services Coordinator Matthew Schroeder accepted the award from the Governor at the Wisconsin State Fair.
