The Hatheway History Lecture: The Power and the People

Madison, Wis. (February 15, 2016) – Edgewood College is pleased to present The Power and the People for the 11th Annual Hatheway History Lecture. The event is presented in an engaging format featuring three speakers. The speakers will address the contemporary African-American Freedom Struggle.

Gina Barton covers criminal justice for the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. In 2013, she won a George Polk award for her investigation into the death of Derek Williams in Milwaukee police custody.

Nate Hamilton is the brother of Dontre Hamilton. Dontre was killed by a Milwaukee police officer in the spring of 2014.

Michael Johnson is President and CEO of Boys and Girls Club of Dane County. He served as an important community leader in the weeks and months following the killing of Tony Robinson in 2015.

The evening begins at 7:00 pm, Wednesday, March 9, 2016, in Anderson Auditorium. There is no admission charge and seating is limited.

The 11th Annual Hatheway History Lecture is presented with support from the Bob and Carroll Heideman Crossing Educational Boundaries fund.
