Madison, Wis. (July 16, 2018) – Edgewood College is pleased to extend an initiative that expands an opportunity for veterans who are beginning their college careers after their service.
Thanks in part to a renewal of a grant from the American Family Insurance Dreams Foundation, the College continues the Achieve, Connect, and Engage program. This program is a ‘conditional admission’ initiative especially for
veterans whose high school grades may not reflect their academic capacity, or whose standardized test scores have since expired. The program provides comprehensive resources – especially student support in the academic areas
of mathematics and writing – for these veterans.
“We are humbled by American Family’s support of our veteran community and their generous gift to support students who have served, and who demonstrate the commitment to pursue their educational goals with Edgewood College,”
Matthew J. Schroeder ’07, Director of Military & Veterans Services said. “The student veterans in this program will start their careers on the same ground as their
peers, and by working together will build on the strength of the community that we work to ensure for of all our students,” Schroeder said.
The first cohort of Achieve, Connect, and Engage students began their study in the fall of 2017.
