Madison, Wis. (Sept. 10, 2018) – Edgewood College has been named to the 2019 ‘Best National Universities’ list by U.S. News & World Report. The college rankings were released today.
This announcement is the most recent in a series of national recognitions for Edgewood College. Earlier this summer Edgewood College was named a “Best Regional College” by The Princeton Review, was named to
MONEY magazine’s “Best Colleges” List for 2018-’19, and was
recognized by Washington Monthly magazine as a ‘Best College for Student Voting,’ and
on its best ‘National Universities’ list.
“Every day, talented faculty and staff here remain committed to work to help our students connect learning, beliefs, and action. Through their efforts, we have increased access, enhanced the quality of our educational
offerings, improved student success, and achieved greater diversity and inclusion on our campus,” President Scott Flanagan said. “The recognition we’ve received in recent weeks, most recently by U.S. News,
affirms that we are successfully delivering on that promise.”
The U.S. News rankings focus on academic excellence, with schools ranked on up to 16 measures of academic quality. Overall, the rankings emphasize student outcomes – including graduation and retention rates – which
carry the most weight at 35 percent.
