Madison, Wis. (February 8, 2019) – The Streaming Eagles, one of the newest student groups on campus, invite you to a special opportunity to learn more about the latest excitement around competitive online gaming at Edgewood College.
“Competitive gaming at colleges and universities is growing every day, and offers students new opportunities to connect with one another,” Senior Kareem Massie, President of the Streaming Eagles, said. “We are excited to have launched this new club, which will serve students from all backgrounds and abilities. Those students will enjoy the opportunity to compete with other students, both across the country and around the world.”
Plan to be here at 5:15 pm, Tuesday, February 12, 2019, for a great evening that includes a student panel, and information about our new Residence Hall Strategic Gaming Learning community. You’ll finish up in our new Gaming Arena, located on the ground level of Marie Stephen Reges Hall (“Stevie Hall”).
eSports is competition using video games. It is increasing in popularity in high schools, colleges, and universities worldwide. The new Gaming Arena at Edgewood College is equipped with 10 gaming PCs; four flat screen TVs with an Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch; and meeting space for discussing strategy and coaching.
