Madison, Wis. (March 16, 2020) – Most Edgewood College staff and faculty will work remotely for at least the next few weeks it was announced today. The College is currently on spring break, and will move to fully online
instruction when the semester resumes March 23.
Residence halls are also closed to students until at least April 6, with the exception of several who are unable to relocate. Edgewood College will maintain staffing on campus at levels to ensure the health, safety, and
security of all on our campus, even as many in our community will work remotely.
These steps are being taken to pursue the new imperative of ‘social distancing,’ Mary Ellen Gevelinger, Interim President, said.
“As I shared with our community earlier today, there’s more to it,” she said. “Our Catholic social teaching tells us that Compassion – our shared value – means the most vulnerable among us merits first consideration in
our circle of concern. And true community – our community – recognizes that we humans are part of one family, and
share responsibility for one another.”
Edgewood College is maintaining a web page to share updates related to the pandemic at www.edgewood.edu/covid-19.###
