NACC Competitions on Hold Until Spring 2021

Madison, Wis. (July 27, 2020) – The presidents of the colleges and universities of the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) today announced that they made the difficult decision to postpone all conference regular-season competitions and championship events through December 31, 2020.  Student-athletes at the member institutions were notified on Friday.

“The Presidents in our conference are united in our commitment to the health and safety of our student-athletes,” President Andrew Manion, said. “While it is disappointing that we will not have the chance to enjoy conference competition this fall, we believe the sacrifice is necessary as we all work toward the common goal of getting Covid-19 under control. Our coaches have been in touch with their students to assure them that they are still part of a team and the team will have activities throughout the fall in preparation for competition in the spring. We look forward to welcoming all our new and returning students to campus next month.”

“It is unfortunate news about our conference schedules being moved to the second semester,” Al Brisack, Director of Athletics, said. “However, we feel great about our Edgewood College return plans and are excited to get our student-athletes back.  Our focus is to provide them the safest environment to continue their skill development, get back together with their teammates and return to their student-athlete routines.”

Edgewood College student-athletes compete in 18 intercollegiate varsity sports at the NCAA Division III level.
