Doctor of Nursing Practice Program Receives Accreditation

Madison, Wis. (December 11, 2015) – Edgewood College is pleased to announce that the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) has granted their maximum five-year accreditation to the Henry Predolin School of Nursing for its new Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program.

“This an important step that recognizes the quality of both the curriculum and the faculty of our DNP program,” Dr. Margaret Noreuil, Dean of the School of Nursing, said. “We will continue to address the changing needs of our healthcare communities through the education of outstanding professionals, and we’re honored that the CCNE has recognized that we’re well equipped to meet those needs.”

In its notification to the College, the CCNE noted that there are no compliance concerns with the DNP program with respect to the four accreditation standards: mission and governance, institutional commitment and resources, curriculum and teaching-learning practices, and assessment and achievement of program outcomes.

As a voluntary, self-regulatory process, CCNE accreditation supports and encourages continuing self-assessment by nursing programs and supports continuing growth and improvement of collegiate professional education and post-baccalaureate nurse residency programs.
