Grads and faculty at celebration
Madison, Wis. (January 16, 2020) – The latest cohort of students completing the Master of Science degree in Child Life celebrated the completion of their rigorous classroom work at the end of the Fall 2019 semester.

The Child Life programs at Edgewood College prepare students for careers as Child Life Specialists who provide psychosocial care for children and advocacy to families in both hospitals and alternative settings. Child Life specialists promote patient and family-centered care and provide therapeutic support in working with children and their families who are living with acute hospitalization, chronic or terminal illness, surgery, trauma, injuries and disabilities. Edgewood College offers both an undergraduate degree and a new 5-Year BS to MS degree track in this rapidly-growing field.

“This evening is such an amazing night of celebration as these students embark on their next chapter in their education, their clinical internship,” Katie Glass, Director of the Child Life program at Edgewood College, said. “This is an excellent group of students who will be accomplishing some extraordinary things.”

These students will now advance to their clinical settings, where they will fulfill their Field Experience requirements to complete the Master of Science degree.
