Dr. Maria Yelle, Dr. Colleen Gullickson, Dr. Yulia Semeniuk, Dr. Roberta Pawlak, and Professor Tom Doherty had a paper accepted for the Midwest Nursing Research Society conference MNRS 41st Annual Research Conference, which was held on April 6-9 in Minneapolis. They submitted an abstract titled “Evaluation of Undergraduate Nursing Students’ Leadership Field Experiences,” which reflects the changes they’ve made in the N412 Leadership course to include hands-on leadership experiences for senior level nursing students.
Dr. Roberta Pawlak
published “Theory of Constraints: What Can We Learn to Support the Nursing Workforce?” in the Journal of Administrative Nursing (JONA).
Dr. Ernise Williams
will present at the American Public Health Association Conference this fall. Her presentation is titled "Incarceration: A Fundamental Cause of Health Inequities between Black and White Men." Dr. Williams was also accepted into the Fall 2017 Center for Multicultural Education Faculty Fellowship Cohort at Edgewood College.
Dr. Melissa Dabel presented "Engaging Our Neighbor: A Participatory Approach to Improve Prenatal Care Coordination Service Delivery in Dane County" at the Wisconsin Public Health Association Conference in May 2017. Dr. Dabel also had her poster “A Process Evaluation Utilizing a Participatory Approach to Improve Prenatal Care Coordination Service Delivery” accepted for presentation at the Wisconsin Association for Prenatal Care in May 2017.
Dr. Roberta Pawlak and Professor Erika Helmer attended and presented at the "Making Lifelong Connections (MLC): MCH Leadership in Times of Change” Meeting in Seattle, WA on April 5-7, 2017. This was made possible through funding from the Maternal & Child Health Bureau (MCHB).
Dr. Lori Severtson
had two abstracts accepted for presentation at the annual meeting of the Society for Risk Analysis in December 2016. The titles of her presentations were "The Influence of Interactivity and Uncertainty on Reasoning with Maps that Depict an Environmental Hazard," and "Testing Methods for Conveying Uncertainty on Maps: A Synthesis of Five Studies."
Professor Jeneile Luebke Cleary received the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee (UWM) Advanced Opportunity Program (AOP) Fellowship award for the 2017-18 academic year. The AOP award is in support of her PhD studies in Nursing from UWM. In addition, her academic success in her PhD program is being recognized by the UWM American Indian Student Services as they are highlighting her academic achievement at their AISS Award Reception.
Dr. April Yerges was offered a tenure track position at Edgewood College.
