Information for PD Instructors
Many professional development courses offered to educational professionals for Edgewood College graduate-level credit are developed by educators outside of the Edgewood community.
The Professional Development team at Edgewood College has been set up to assist instructors so that courses can be offered to adult educators for Edgewood College graduate-level credit. These credits meet both licensing and Professional Development Plan requirements of PI-34. Course participants might be able to apply credits from some PD courses toward degree or advanced licensing programs at Edgewood College, depending on advisor approval.
An Edgewood College Professional Development Course Proposal form is required for each PD offering at least two weeks prior to the course start date. The form can be obtained from and returned to any of the Professional Development staff members. Compose email
All course proposals are submitted for approval to a review team which has established criteria in order to maintain the rigor and quality associated with Edgewood College graduate-level credit. All PD courses are offered at the graduate level.
When the course is approved, the instructor is provided with course information which can be forwarded to interested course participants/students.
Participants who wish to receive Edgewood College credit go online to complete an application for each PD course.
After the course concludes, instructors submit course grades by semester deadlines to the Coordinator of Professional Development. Subsequently, students can both view their grades online and receive them on college transcripts.
