Edgewood College strives to offer a safe and inclusive environment for all students, across the entire campus. In the spirit of the Dominican Tradition, we welcome all into our community, including persons who identify as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans*, Queer, Intersex, Asexual, or gender non-conforming. We strive to provide a safe space for all individuals who identify as LGBTQIA.

As part of this effort, Edgewood College created an organization called SAFE, comprised of students, faculty, and staff who advocate for the well-being of Edgewood College's gay, bisexual, lesbian, transgender people and their allies. SAFE also partnered with Personal Counseling Services to create a Peer Queer Mentor Program.

Gender Diversity is welcomed here. We encourage you to use the restroom that best fits your gender identity or expression. If you are uncomfortable using a multi-stall restroom, there are single-stall restrooms in most buildings.

As a new student, you will be randomly assigned a Residence Hall based on the gender identity and preferences you select on your application. Title IX protects the rights of transgender students in housing and restroom use. Please contact the Office of Residence Life at 608-663-3228 if you have questions.
