Personal Counseling Services (PCS) acknowledges that mental health concerns often have a significant impact on student learning and the overall educational experience. Thus, we offer a range of services designed to foster your growth and development, while also supporting the Edgewood College academic mission. PCS provides individual and group counseling, crisis intervention, psychoeducational and preventative outreach services, consultation to students, parents, faculty, and staff, and training for graduate students in counseling.
All individual and group counseling services are confidential and free for Edgewood College students.
As an Edgewood College student, you can seek up to 10 sessions of individual counseling each academic year. There currently is not a limit to the number of group sessions that can be provided. We are also able to provide off-campus referrals in instances in which that is deemed appropriate. Because we are located in a large, capital city, we are fortunate to have a number of great resources within the immediate area to which we can refer students. This allows us to often provide multiple referral options when it’s required.
Edgewood College also operates The Family Center, an off-campus State Certified Outpatient Mental Health Clinic which provides psychotherapy services by qualified therapists. The Family Center accepts a variety of insurance panels and offers sliding scale fees. Services are available to community members, as well as to Edgewood College students, faculty, and staff.
