Professional Background:
Mark Herzog is a distinguished healthcare executive with nearly 40 years of senior leadership experience across six independent and system organizations. His extensive career encompasses faith-based, secular, urban, and rural settings throughout the Midwest. A recognized leader in healthcare governance, he has contributed significantly to the MHA, AHA, and ACHE, earning the ACHE Distinguished Service Award and serving five years on the Michigan Chapter’s Programs Committee. His influence extends to national thought leadership, having delivered nearly 50 presentations on critical topics such as strategic innovation, mergers, and culture shaping.
In the academic and professional development spheres, Mr. Herzog serves as a Clinical Professor of Practice at the Rochester Institute of Technology and was previously an Executive in Residence at the University of Michigan. As an active member of the AUPHA, he co-founded the Practitioner Scholar Faculty Forum, an initiative that earned him the AUPHA Challenge Coin. Through these roles, he continues to bridge the gap between executive practice and healthcare education, leveraging his deep expertise to mentor the next generation of industry leaders.
