Jill McNutt, PhD, LPC, ATRL, ATR-BC, ATCS is the Director of the Master of Arts in Art Therapy Program and brings more than 25 years of experience in medical art therapy practice across healthcare and interdisciplinary clinical settings. Her work has focused on integrating art therapy within medical environments, supporting patients, families, and healthcare teams through trauma-informed, relational, and creative approaches to care.
Dr. McNutt has been a leader in online education in art therapy since 2012, with extensive experience developing, teaching, and supervising graduate-level coursework in virtual and hybrid formats. She is deeply committed to accessible, rigorous, and relationally grounded art therapy education that prepares students for contemporary clinical practice.
She holds two doctoral degrees: a PhD in Counseling Education and Supervision from Regent University and a PhD in Expressive Therapies from Lesley University. Her scholarship and teaching emphasize clinical training, supervision, program development, and the integration of expressive modalities within counseling and healthcare contexts.
