What is the difference between an EdD and a Ph.D. in Education?
An EdD is a professional doctorate designed for working educators and leaders, focused on applying research to real-world challenges and improving educational systems. Most EdD programs take an average of 3-4 years to complete. A Ph.D. in Education is more focused on scholarly research and designed for students who want to conduct original research, contribute to theory, and prepare for careers in academia or research. Most Ph.D. programs take an average of 4-7 years to complete. Both degrees are terminal, meaning they are the highest academic degrees available. Choosing the right degree depends on your career goals, interests, and the impact you want to make.
Earning a doctoral degree is a significant investment in your future, reflecting your commitment to lifelong learning and professional excellence. This program is designed to be both flexible and competitively priced. Tuition includes access to enhanced dissertation support which includes workshops, 1:1 support, and immersions.
