Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA)

Achieve the Highest Level of Education with our Online DBA Degree

As competent leaders in the business world, graduates of the Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA) program will position themselves to advance in their career while influencing innovative change and driving solutions to complex problems.

MBA vs. DBA

A Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree is now the industry standard and Edgewood College is proud to offer students an excellent MBA program that is highly applicable to your real-world, professional environment. With many job applicants having their master’s degree, this shift becoming an industry standard, now is the best time to advance your education to the highest level. Esteemed and respected, a DBA will help you stand out in a highly competitive market and is the difference between being a strong organizational leader or a distinguished expert leading systematic and functional change. This terminal degree path focuses significant concentration on research in the classroom and how that translates into real-life experiences in the corporate business world.

  • Do I Need an MBA to pursue a DBA?
    • No. Graduates with a master’s degree in any profession are encouraged to apply!
  • Is there an Option to Complete Both an MBA & DBA?
    • Yes! Edgewood College has introduced an Online MBA + DBA Dual Degree. The first of its kind in the United States, students will take an additional 15 credits and graduate with both an MBA and DBA. To learn more about this pathway, follow up with our Graduate Admissions Team at gps@edgewood.edu.

DBA vs. PhD

Also referred to as terminal degrees, both are revered as the highest post-graduate degrees available. How do you know what elite degree path is best for you and your professional career goals? Unlike a PhD program which is geared toward academia and theoretical research, a DBA focuses on applied research. Doctoral students will enhance their critical reasoning skills for practical use in developing pragmatic solutions to problems in the business world.

  • Penetrate the C-Suite Market
    • With a DBA, you increase your potential of entering the c-suite job market. It can take years to have enough knowledge and experience to move into executive roles. Build credibility with your doctorate and expand earlier in your career.
  • Prepare for a Second Career
    • Many people discover their desire to be prepared for a second career. The DBA will open the opportunity to teach at the doctoral level if you decide, now or later, that you are interested in sharing your knowledge and experience in a classroom.
