Edgewood Engaged: Catherine Kautsky

This year’s Edgewood Engaged keynote address will bring Catherine Kautsky, Chair of Keyboard at Lawrence University in Appleton, Wis. to campus.

Ms. Kautsky’s lecture/recital entitled “Debussy and His Friends: An Evening of French music, poetry, art, and politics” is free and open to the public.

Ms. Kautsky holds a bachelor’s degree from the New England Conservatory, a master’s from the Juilliard School, and a doctorate from the State University of New York at Stony Brook. Kautsky is author of Debussy’s Paris: Piano Portraits of the Belle Epoque, published by Rowman & Littlefield in September 2017. Reviewed by Booklist as “a fascinating fusion of music, literature, and social history,” it has won accolades from eminent pianists across the country.
