DESCRIPTION OF JOB:     

The Department of Biological Sciences at Edgewood University invites applications for a full-time tenure track faculty position in biology.

This is a full-time, tenure track position with a 9-month academic year appointment.

Responsibilities:

We are seeking candidates to teach courses in human anatomy & physiology as well as upper-level courses that align with the candidate’s specific background. As an assistant professor, the successful candidate will also advise students in our majors, conduct research in collaboration with undergraduates, participate in curriculum development & assessment, and engage in service to our department and to Edgewood University.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Necessary Education or Work Experience:

Ph.D. in the biological sciences; candidates who are ABD will be considered if completion of degree is expected by Fall 2026.

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience teaching undergraduates, especially in anatomy & physiology and related subjects.
  • Expertise in human physiology, microbiology, or a related field.
  • Experience conducting research with undergraduates.
  • A vision for developing a scholarly research program at Edgewood University, and for involving undergraduates in research.
