Nurse Practitioner Complex Care Team, UW Health American Family Children’s Hospital

Dr. Brittany Storhoff is a board-certified family nurse practitioner, healthcare advocate, and community leader dedicated to improving the lives of underserved populations. A 2011 graduate of Edgewood University, she earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing with a minor in Spanish and received the Mary Kelly Powell Leadership Award. As a student-athlete, she set the women’s tennis program record for career doubles wins and helped lead the Eagles to three NCAA National Tournament appearances.

After establishing a strong foundation as a registered nurse, Brittany earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. She now serves in the Pediatric Complex Care Program at American Family Children’s Hospital, where she specializes in caring for children with medical complexities and developmental disabilities. She is a passionate advocate for disability rights and supports patients and families through the transition from pediatric to adult healthcare.

Dr. Storhoff’s commitment to service extends beyond her clinical work. Since joining the Guatemala Medical Resources Partnership in 2013, she has become one of the organization’s most dedicated leaders and for over a decade now serves as Director of its annual medical mission. She oversees planning, fundraising, volunteer recruitment, logistics, and international partnerships supporting a team of more than 50 interdisciplinary volunteers. Together, they provide medical, dental, vision, and pharmaceutical care to more than 800 patients annually in rural Guatemala.

She also serves on the board of the Oliveros Scholarship Fund, which helps expand educational opportunities for underserved students in Guatemala. The program provides scholarships that enable middle school, high school, and university students to continue their education beyond sixth grade, creating pathways to long-term opportunity and community advancement.

Through both her clinical practice and global service work, Dr. Storhoff is committed to expanding access to healthcare and educational opportunities. Her leadership has helped improve the lives of thousands of patients while strengthening communities both locally and abroad.

Outside of her professional and volunteer endeavors, Brittany enjoys playing ultimate frisbee, practicing yoga, traveling the world, and reading. She lives in Madison, Wisconsin, with her two adopted cats, Simon and Marvin, and loves spending time with friends and family.
