He earned degrees in Sociology and Human & Community Resources from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point and later completed a Doctorate in Higher Education Leadership from Edgewood University. Sam began his career as Program Director at the Boys & Girls Club of Portage County, eventually becoming Director of Operations. As a scholar and global citizen, Dr. Dinga’s leadership is grounded in a commitment to creating opportunities for others. His impact extends internationally through the Makah Foundation, which he founded in memory of his late sister. Under his leadership, the Foundation has funded and constructed more than 80 clean-water wells in rural Cameroon and established the Bon Ma Kah Orphanage & Resource Center, expanding access to safe water, education, and opportunity for underserved children and families.
Dr. Dinga serves on multiple boards, including the Boys & Girls Club, Noel Compass Scholar Program, and the Portage County Cultural Festival. He is President of the Makah Foundation Board, past president of the Wisconsin Area Council and Kiwanis Club, a Rotary Club member, and an adjunct faculty member at UW-Stevens Point. His leadership has been recognized through numerous honors, including induction into the Boys & Girls Club Wisconsin Hall of Fame in 2024, along with several community and leadership awards.
