Madison, Wis. (August 11, 2026) – Edgewood University is honored to welcome Dr. Megan Walsh as Vice President for Academic Affairs and Professor of English. Dr. Walsh began her new role July 1, 2026.

Edgewood University conducted a competitive national search for this important position. The search committee included the President, one current Trustee, three members of the faculty, two President’s Cabinet members, two academic deans, and one member of the staff.
“Dr. Walsh was the consensus choice among faculty, staff, cabinet, and search committee members,” President Andrew Manion said. “Her energy and intellect are already evident as she provides leadership for our students enrolled the Henry Predolin College of Health Sciences, the College of Arts and Sciences, and the College of Business, Communications, and Technology. She has already made herself an invaluable colleague.”
Before joining Edgewood University, Dr. Walsh served as Dean and Campus Director of the University of Maine at Machias where she created new opportunities for online students, increased retention and graduation rates, and developed the first four-year nursing program in the region in partnership with the University of Maine at Augusta. She also secured nearly $4 million in new funding for the campus, including federal dollars to create a dedicated learning center for dual enrollment students. She has held teaching and research appointments at the University of Maine in Orono, St. Bonaventure University, and the Ohio State University. Dr. Walsh’s research covers the print and visual culture of the early United States. In 2024 she became an elected member of the American Antiquarian Society. Dr. Walsh holds a Ph.D. and M.A. in English from Temple University and a B.A. in English and History from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
