Adjunct Instructor – Doctoral Completion Program

Description of Job

The Adjunct Instructor in the Doctoral Completion Program is responsible for all logistical aspects in regard to their individual methods courses in the Edgewood College Doctoral Completion Program, consisting of individual (3) credit modules with topics such as, Leadership, Foundation, and Ethics, Leadership and Research Discernment, Research Methods and IRB Proposal, and Proposal Writing and Presentation. Courses are taught in an online format with 2 synchronous meetings per term via WebEx meeting software. Edgewood College online certification is required for adjunct faculty teaching completely online courses.

Responsibilities

  • Organize, coordinate, instruct, assess, and report on student progress in doctoral courses
  • Work collaboratively with the program leadership and faculty on course syllabus
  • Participate in faculty professional development when available
  • Facilitate regular meetings with students in need of direction
  • Communicate student concerns and needs to program leadership 

Job Qualifications

Necessary Education or Work Experience

  • Earned Doctorate, preferably in Educational Leadership
  • Experience in designing and teaching graduate courses in the areas of:
    • writing literature reviews,
    • developing research proposals,
    • experience developing IRB proposals,
    • guiding students through the dissertation research and writing process.
  • Willingness to direct and advise graduate student dissertation research

Required Knowledge and Skills

  • Commitment, energy, and capacity to successfully manage multiple tasks
  • Superior time management and organizational skills; extreme attention to detail
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in online instruction
