Program Administrator for Marriage and Family Therapy

Description of Job

This position is a full-time 12-month, non-tenure track, administrator position with faculty responsibilities and reports to the Associate Dean for the Marriage and Family Therapy program. Responsibilities include administrative responsibilities for all aspects of the graduate program in MFT; and serving as faculty in the Graduate Psychology Department with a teaching load and additional governance responsibilities.



  • Teach 9 graduate credits annually


  • Advise and mentor graduate students
  • Oversee and monitor the MFT portfolio system
  • Create, implement, and manage certificate programs for the MFT program
  • Participate in recruiting and mentoring new faculty
  • Participate in review of student appropriateness for clinical year placement
  • Attend additional Program Activities
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Associate Dean for MFT program


  • Participate in all Departmental, Faculty, and Administration meetings
  • Participate in at least 1 (one) campus committee

Job Qualifications

Necessary Education or Work Experience

  • Master’s Degree or above in equivalent degree with teaching, clinical, and supervisory


  • Licensed (or licensable) in Wisconsin in Marriage and Family Therapy
  • Knowledge of the various fields of systems therapy
  • Strong teaching skills
  • Strong administrative skills
  • 2 +years clinical experience
  • AAMFT approved supervisor or in supervisor track

Required Knowledge and Skills

  • COAMFTE standards for accreditation, including Core Competencies
  • Knowledge of field of MFT (systems theory, foundational models)
  • AAMFT Code of ethics
  • WI State standards for licensure
  • Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Effective skills in teaching and mentoring
