Madison, Wis. (December 22, 2025) – Janet McCord, Ph.D., Professor of Thanatology at Edgewood University, has received a Fulbright Specialist Program award. The U.S. Department of State and the Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board made the announcement earlier this fall. Dr. McCord will complete a project at Universidade de Aveiro in Portugal that aims to exchange knowledge and establish partnerships benefiting participants, institutions, and communities both in the U.S. and overseas through a variety of educational and training activities within education.

The Eagles had their name called in the selection show Monday as an at-large bid. The Eagles at-large selection is the first in Edgewood University history. Designed to prepare highly skilled, compassionate Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs), this advanced practice degree equips graduates to provide safe, comprehensive anesthesia care across a broad spectrum of healthcare settings. The three-year hybrid curriculum begins with a blend of online and in-person coursework in the first year, followed by intensive clinical practicum experiences in years two and three.
