Madison, Wis. (May 21, 2026) – Sarah Stolte, Ph.D., has been honored with the 2026 Underkofler Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching Award at Edgewood University. Dr. Stolte, herself an alumna of the University, serves students as Associate Professor of Art History in the College of Arts and Sciences.

Dr. Stolte holds a Ph.D. in Art History from UW-Madison, and a masters degree from UW-Milwaukee. She currently serves as Chair of the Department of Fine and Performing Arts at Edgewood University.

The James R. Underkofler Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching Award honors a faculty member, chosen by a committee of faculty, students, and alumni of Edgewood University, who exemplifies the highest standards of teaching excellence. The award is given in honor of James R. Underkofler, a long-time senior executive with Alliant Energy, who retired in 1990. The award pays tribute to Underkofler’s enduring interest in encouraging and promoting undergraduate teaching excellence.
