This year, in addition to providing their generous annual scholarship, the Wisconsin Rural Opportunities Foundation (WROF) we created an endowed fund and will award scholarships from the annual earnings to our nursing students in perpetuity. Forever. These scholarships will be awarded to an undergraduate nursing student from a rural area in Wisconsin with a preference for students planning to return to a rural community in Wisconsin after graduation.

WROF has been supporting Edgewood College nursing students with annual scholarships for 40 years. To date, 74 students have benefited from their generosity. 

Michelle (Goodhue) Jenkins ’10 is one of our grateful past recipients of the WROF Annual Scholarship. Michelle has worked in many rural health centers since graduation and is now a school nurse in the Wisconsin Dells School District. She stays connected to Edgewood College partnering with our current nursing students to staff the district’s vision screening clinics for students and emergency medicine training for staff.
