Edgewood College Hosts NAACP 'ACT-SO' Competition
Madison, Wis. (March 1, 2018) – Edgewood College is pleased to work in partnership with the NAACP of Dane County to present the 2018 ACT-SO Competition for young students in Greater Madison.
The Afro-Academic, Cultural, Technological and Scientific Olympics (ACT-SO) is a national, yearlong achievement program designed to recruit, stimulate, and encourage high academic and cultural achievement among African-American high school students. ACT-SO includes 32 competitions in STEM, humanities, business, and performing, visual and culinary arts. Almost 300,000 young people have participated in the program since its inception.
Applications for the competition are accepted through March 15, 2018, and are available at http://www.naacpofdaneco.org.
The finals of the competition and the award ceremony will be hosted on campus Saturday, April 21, 2018 and on Saturday, April 28, 2018.
