Madison, Wis. (May 18, 2016) – Edgewood College is pleased to announce a deepening partnership with Madison College. New articulation agreements signed late last week guarantee admission to Edgewood College for Madison College associate degree holders and allow honors students at Madison College admission to the Honors Program at Edgewood College after transferring.

“The agreements continue the rich tradition of partnering with institutions that share our commitment to student success in the classroom,” Jack Daniels, President of Madison College said. “That commitment focusses on academic rigor, experiential learning, and the development of critical thinking, creative problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.”

Under the transfer agreement, students who receive an associate of arts or sciences degree from Madison College will have fulfilled the Edgewood College general education requirements except COR requirements, World Languages and Religious Studies. The agreement covers students who apply within five years of degree completion from Madison College.

“These latest agreements serve as a reminder of the great work that remains to be done,” Scott Flanagan, President of Edgewood College said. “At a time when higher education is changing quickly, at a time when our community is changing quickly, we remain two institutions that have at their center outstanding educational experience for students, to meet the needs of the Greater Madison community. This is simply the most recent partnership for our continued work together.”

The second agreement allows Madison College Honors Students, who meet certain criteria when transferring, guaranteed admission to the Edgewood College Honors Program. This agreement includes a renewable academic scholarship, priority registration, diploma recognition and participation in special activities and excursions.
